Artist bio


Miska Allonen (born in 1993, Orimattila) is a Finnish fine art student from Tampere University of Applied Sciences. He is fascinated about bringing photography to the present day with new experimental ways using different spaces and installations. Allonen is a diverse storyteller frorn the countryside. He works with a wide range of techniques frorn video to sculptures and drawings.

Allonen has been working on several community art projects including Utopia/Dystopia perfomance festivals and SOMA pop-up Gallery which was open for everyone to bring their works to the gallery space. SOMA project also included art workshops. Allonen has curated work to Voipaala Art Centre with a workgroup and he has been an assistant for Purnu Art Centre. Allonen is a devoted document photographer for a monthly recurring Finnish music club Kirnuplimä-klubi at Kahvilla café, Tampere.

Allonen has a studio in Tampereen Taidehalli (Tampere Kunsthalle).ln September 2015 Allonen joined a Finnish art collective Tehonrakentajat (Power Builders, established in2012).

 

Allonen studied photography during his student exchange in summer 2016 at Berliner Technische Kunst-hochschule. Land Escapes is his fourth solo exhibition and first ever abroad.
